My life changed when I grabbed a flyer while leaving my undergraduate Biology 101 class. The pamphlet was asking for volunteers for suicide hotlines. At first, I was nervous because I did not know what to expect. My confidence grew as the crisis counseling training taught me how to build deep connections with others, de-escalate troubling emotions, and guide individuals toward resources and support. This volunteer work awakened my passion for counseling, and a semester later, I changed my undergraduate to psychology.
Wanting a deeper understanding of therapeutic techniques, I pursued a master's degree in Social Work. Alongside academic growth, I prioritized having diverse work experience. Throughout my career, I have worked in hospitals, community mental health, substance abuse treatment courts, and private practice.
My passion for psychotherapy has only grown as I have seen its powerful effects in helping individuals build resilience, manage stress, and enhance their overall well-being. From our first conversation, I hope you feel welcome and supported so you can begin or continue this journey of self-growth.
